Q: Why does this 2-person kit use water pouches instead of a refillable container?

A: In a dual-person evacuation, speed is critical. Pre-packaged pouches provide instant hydration for both individuals the moment you open the bag. There is no need to find a water source or spend time filling a tank. They are also burst-proof and rated for extreme temperatures, making them ideal for storage in Canadian vehicles or garages.

Q: Are there enough water pouches for two people for three full days?

A: The 18 pouches provide an immediate emergency supply. For extended hydration, the kit includes 20 Aquatabs®, which allow you to purify up to 40 liters of additional water collected from any available source (rain, rivers, or taps), ensuring both people stay hydrated well beyond the initial 72-hour window.

Q: How do we share the shelter provided in the kit?

A: The kit includes a Coghlan's Tube Tent, which is designed to fit two adults comfortably. While you share the overhead shelter, the kit provides two individual Mylar sleeping bags, allowing each person to maintain their own body heat and personal space while sleeping.

Q: Is the backpack too heavy for one person to carry?

A: At 15.5 lbs, the backpack is designed to be manageable for most adults. By keeping both people’s supplies in one bag, it ensures that your survival gear stays together. This also frees up the second person to carry additional personal items, a pet carrier, or to assist children.
