Q: Why does this kit use water pouches instead of a water tank?

A: Water pouches provide instant hydration without needing a source to fill from. They are commercially sealed, burst-proof, and designed to withstand Canadian temperature extremes (from -40°C to 110°C). This makes the kit truly "grab-and-go" for rapid evacuations where seconds count.

Q: How do the Aquatabs® work if the water pouches are already sealed?

A: The 12 water pouches provide your immediate supply. The 20 Aquatabs® are included as a secondary phase; they allow you to safely purify up to 40L of additional water collected from rain, rivers, or taps during a prolonged displacement.

Q: Will the food and water expire if left in my car?

A: Both the S.O.S.® food rations and the water pouches have a 5-year shelf life. They are specifically engineered to remain safe and effective despite the temperature fluctuations common in vehicle trunks or garages.

Q: What is a "Tube Tent" and how do I set it up?

A: A tube tent is a lightweight, portable shelter. To set it up, you simply run the included nylon cord through the "tube," tie the cord between two trees or sturdy posts, and weigh down the corners. It provides significantly better protection from wind and rain than a standard emergency blanket.

Q: Does the crank radio require any batteries?

A: No. The radio is designed for total self-sufficiency. It uses a hand-crank dynamo to charge an internal battery, ensuring you always have access to AM/FM emergency broadcasts and light, even during a total grid failure.
