Showing 1 - 8 of 8 products
If you have a business in Alberta, you must comply with the Alberta (OHS) Occupational Health and Safety Code (2009) (AR 87/2009). Alberta workplaces must be equipped with first aid kits that meet CSA Z1220-17 standards. To ensure compliance, it is important to make sure the kits are checked and replenished on a regular basis.
The type and size of first aid kit required for an Alberta workplace is determined by the number of workers per shift as well as the level of risk of injury. The likelihood of harm as well as the severity of harm should be taken into consideration when determining workplace risk level.
Lone/Isolated Worker
- 1 worker or worker in isolation requires a Type 1 Personal First Aid Kit.
For Low Risk Workplace Environment with
- 2-25 workers per shift requires a Type 2 Basic First Aid Kit - Small (2-25 Workers).
- 26-50 workers per shift requires a Type 2 Basic First Aid Kit - Medium (26-50 Workers).
- 51-100 workers per shift requires a Type 2 Basic First Aid Kit - Large (51-100 Workers).
For High Risk Workplace Environment with
- 2-25 workers per shift requires a Type 3 Intermediate First Aid Kit - Small (2-25 Workers).
- 26-50 workers per shift requires a Type 3 Intermediate First Aid Kit - Medium (26-50 Workers).
- 51-100 workers per shift requires a Type 3 Intermediate First Aid Kit - Large (51-100 Workers).
